Posting Hiatus

Well it seems it has been quite some time since I have posted on my blog. For the past 5 or so months I have been working very busily at my day job amongst that there were a couple of life altering events. I lost sight of time in the midst of it all and next thing I know its almost December! I picked up my pastels about a week ago to continue working on a long overdue project and am very excited about how it is coming out. That inspired me to get back into gear and continue on my career path.
I have recently become a member of and was added to the advisory board of a new site that will be launched in the near future called JaMuse. I am very excited about this site and will post more about it later on. It will prove to be a very useful tool for anyone in the creative profession.

My Journey Continues

Recently I have updated my website as it was bugging me. It did not feel quite right. I am happy with my new changes, but I am anxious to continue to work on it. I get lots of ideas from browsing around other sites. There are a slew of creative people out there, it is very inspiring!
I've recently discovered a forum on the Illustration Friday website that lists lots of portfolio sites and their cost (though some are outdated). I have been going down this list and signing up for the free ones that seem worthwile... I guess you never know. I am anxious to see if I get anything from them, but plan to invest in a more beneficial one such as childrensillustrators.com.

My choice

I have been slacking with my posts & with IF. My husband dislocated and fractured his right ring finger. It was rather gross! That caused a whirlwind of challenges to get through. Time to get back on track...

I chose my postcard, thanks for the thoughts below! I went with the cat on the moon illustration because I think it captures my illustration personality the most. I believe it is a bit more versatile for sending to variety of companies too. :) My next goal is to get a decent color printer for printing samples of my work.

Decisions Decisions

I am going to have postcards made (finally!) to send out to publishing companies, but I can't decide which image to go with. Can anyone help me out? Advice is always greatly appreciated :)
